Pr Professionals Today Need Business Management Know-how

Research is the single most important component to a successful PR campaign. Without the proper information how can a PR professional possibly know what is going to bring you the most profitable images and the most bang for your buck? They don”t.

A knowledgeable PR professional will see it as part of their job and responsibility to conduct thorough research for your company, first and foremost, to ensure you get the most out of your PR campaign. Hence the reason a high percentage of people feel they never get the results they expect from PR because not all PR people see research as part of their responsibilities.

So if the PR person you have been using has not asked a lot of questions about your company this is a sure sign they do not realize that the research is their duty. Most PR campaigns are not effective because either the company does not have the time to gather the data that is necessary or the PR person does not see it as part of their job to collect information before they design a public relations strategy.

PRs Must Understand Business Management

The job of a company CEO and other executives is not to filter through all of the data that is out there to come up with a strategy that will guarantee PR success. Instead their job is to concentrate on the other aspects of the company which include taking the business to the next level and overseeing the day-to-day operations. If you have the employees sift through the information, they may not be able to determine what the right thing to do for the company is in terms of return on investment since that is not their area of expertise either. Therefore a PR professional with business-management know-how and a proven track record can be a valuable asset to a PR campaign. Why?

An intelligent PR professional who understands how corporations work and how entrepreneurs think will also be able to identify with pressures and decisions that managers face on a regular basis. The PR professional is not looking to create glamour or fame that delivers no real improvement to the bottom line. Instead, a distinguished PR professional seeks satisfaction in terms of more production, more profits, more business, and so on, and actually should have business management expertise to accomplish these goals. If a PR professional does not understand this going in, then you are just going to get a lot of noise, and little effectiveness, from your PR campaign.

More Reasons Why Business Management Skills Are Important

To provide you with an example, I once had a close friend that was going on and on about having a great PR on board who was scheduling him to participate in multiple various events and six different speaking engagements, etc., etc. He had a lot of activity and he thought he was making an impression on me with everything his company was doing. But in the very same conversation he was asking me for help – nothing was “working” and he did not know why.

What he did not realize was that there was one piece missing in the puzzle. When I asked him how all of these efforts related to one another and how they contributed to the bottom line, he didn”t have the faintest idea and the PR team had no idea either. They simply replied that we are doing this “because.” None of it had any rhyme or reason. There was no return on investment nor any real profitable images for him nor the company; meanwhile the statistics on the company were in rapid decline. It certainly was no coincidence.

It turns out that the PR person this client had on board had no business management skills and knew absolutely nothing about running a business. Although she was “PR trained,” she could not determine how to take the company from point A to point B and build a future that aligned with their purpose and their mission statement. So the PR campaign never aligned.

This scenario is not unusual. Unfortunately many PR people are not trained in business management, which usually means they are not trained in marketing. You cannot have a public relations campaign without knowing anything about marketing; and marketing is also less effective without PR. The two methodologies complement one another, but they are not the same. You use PR to boost your marketing campaign and marketing to fuel your sales.

This is why you should use a PR professional with training in business management. I have been around a lot of PRs in my career, and all the top PR professionals that I know, have these skills. If you don”t have a PR that is savvy in business or marketing, you are going to be missing an entire tier of expertise that you need as a core foundation to your PR campaign.

How LAN Stations Have Changed Business Management And Administration

Computer technology has developed mostly because of the Internet. Effectively making the world a smaller place, the Internet has made the communication cost effective while making distances inconsequential. Using Internet effectively over a large number of computers in a common network has been made possible by incorporating LAN stations.

Local Area Network or LAN is about interconnecting a large number of systems under one common gateway address, thus providing a two pronged advantage in running the entire grid smoothly. While the cost of multiple computers and modems is higher than having a LAN station, the entire network under a single station can be monitored effectively using a common LAN station. .

Before the conception of LAN and wireless Internet, single dial up modem connections meant offices having to make larger investments in integrating their systems. Monitoring and administration of the entire grid was also an issue as individual computers needed to be manually managed at its location. But with broadband Internet connections gaining speeds every day, LAN stations can effectively connect and support an entire network from a sole server unit.

The development of LAN technology has a vast range of implications in the market – from homes to industrial networks. In a house, a number of computers needed multiple modems to connect to the Internet. LAN stations made it possible to save huge costs on Internet bills. In cyber cafes and smaller offices, LAN stations are incorporated to ensure that a large number of systems have one source of Internet access. This also helps in securing the network better as the common point of access allows the monitors and administrators to effectively manage multiple stations from one platform.

Today, the usage of LAN is changing business management in all sectors; from banking, warehouses, manufacturing units, retail outlets, to huge industrial plants. Latest development of better and more reliable LAN services is a race that changes dynamics by the minute. For recent evidence, Meru Networks has recently launched its ‘Retail – Ready’ Wireless LAN solution for large and medium retail outlets like shopping malls. These system developments help make business easier to control over a large field of management.

Incorporating LAN stations, KVM switches, touch screen LCDs, such high-tech solutions to your business is the only way to remain ahead in severe competition. International Universities in Bangkok

International university, what does that mean? In the Thai context, this term is used to describe an institute of higher education where English is the language of instruction. In most cases, it would be more politically correct to talk about international colleges, faculties, or programs, which are parts of existing Thai universities. But the question is: “why English”? The answer is quite simple. It is because English is the lingua franca of the modern globalized world. It is a common language used in the publication of scientific research. It is also prevalently used in conducting international business. People who know and speak English well have great advantages compared to those who don’t. In Thailand, English is a de facto second language. Even though the law does not recognize it as such, but it is indisputable that numerous Thai companies require their employees to speak English, let alone foreign companies and corporations. Even street vendors in Bangkok are able to speak English, however minimal, to communicate with their customers of various national backgrounds.

Given numerous opportunities that are the by-products of the ability to speak English, many students seek various means to improve their English skills. Thus emerged the strong demand for post-secondary education in English. In order to meet with this demand, top universities in Thailand began developing English programs, and later on they established themselves as international universities. This allows for a broader range of education as most books and countless forms of educational publication are available in English. Most of these international universities are located in Bangkok and its metropolitan peripheries. The following list is comprised of some well-known universities in Thailand where English is the language of instruction (in alphabetical order).

The world experienced some significant changes in business management education in last few years. International business schools are concentrating more on practical implementation of things these days. The more there will be hands-on training in a course, the more it will be effective. Understanding this simple truth colleges in India are also stressing more on practical aspects. At the end of the day, it is all about your performance in the real field. A hands-on training in the industry can come handy for college students. So, some colleges in India are also focusing more on these things nowadays. Success in any business depends a lot on its management. Be it a small business house or a corporate giant, there is always a need of good managers. As numbers of private companies are increasing in numbers after globalization, so there are requirements for skilled managers all over the world. In India also there are wide ranges of scopes for students. Moreover, b schools in India are not only increasing in numbers, but also improving in quality. There are limited management teachers who can teach the subject perfectly to students. Along with this serious issue, there is another issue with theory based curriculum. International students were getting an edge over students from Indian b schools only because they were steps further in managerial skills in the real field. Business management is all about doing things in practical fields. Thus, when international business management courses are stressing more on practical programs, courses in India are no far behind now. Business schools in India are including traineeship programs and hands on guidance in their curriculum. However, it is not the case with all the business management schools in India. There are only a few b schools which match with industry standards. A student in India should make a perfect choice when it comes to selection of institutions. There are certain things like course contents, fees, teachers, placement records and others and students much check those out before taking a plunge. Above all, the facilities with lab and practical exposure are something that a student should judge. It is a good sign that slowly and gradually India-based b schools have started to move in the right direction.
